CHARLIE LEVINE:
WOMEN CONSTRUCTED

Women Constructed presented nine English female artists from the Camden Art Collection, all of whom look towards Abstract Expressionism - a tradition that has historically often ignored female contributors. The abstract works exhibited were representative of architecture and the built environment, evoking the emotion of the time and referencing the process of rebuilding London while in the midst of grief after World War II.

This exhibition criticised the lack of diversity in public art collections by asking how we can better diversify public and private collections, to help define future eras in a more representative manner.

Women Constructed was co-designed by Back to Front.
